Week 2 Summary

Week 2 Compete League started off with aBstract Gaming vs Tyrannosaurus Rekt with TREKT starting off the game with a nice first blood on a red invade by Rainslight which turned into two more nice kills which must have gave him some confidence who ended the game with an impressive score of 5-2-8 on Vel Koz. aBG was able to answer back with two kills picked up by Lytoc and tim00002 as aBG went on a 5 man roam near dragon pit. The game remained close until TREKT was able to force back aBG and turn it into a baron using the nunu to hurry it down taking a 5k gold lead at 32 minutes. aBG was able to hold off the baron siege by TREKT as they continued to hold on however giving up a second straight baron to TREKT who increased their gold lead to 9k which proved to be too much as TREKT was able to end the game after diving top turret picking up kills and a win in an exciting 43 minute game. Team CompeteLeague looking to bounce back from their hard loss last week took on Word Around the Office in the second game of the day. Drazukei gave CL the early lead with first blood top lane on Call Me Sadlife who was caught trying to run back to safety but wasn’t quite quick enough as the spider caught the bear. CL looked to force a dragon at the 9 minute mark catching WAtO out of position getting a 2-0 fight but leaving dragon still alive. Irgotmilk was finally able to answer back with a solo kill on TeaBee for the first kill for WAtO. CL tried to extend their gold lead by picking up drag and rotating mid to pick up a tower going in for a team fight going 2 for 2 as WAtO picked up a tower as well to try to answer but found themselves still down 3k. CL used their gold lead to pressure both top and mid picking up even more kills and towers jumping to a 8k gold lead at the 20 minute mark. With their backs to the wall WAtO was forced around the map trying to defend objectives hopelessly as CL was able to pick up even more kills and objectives around the map finally ending the game by forcing a baron fight and dominating WAtO into a surrender behind MillerLight 9-0-10 on Twisted Fate and CL Lolshock 8-3-10 winning the game with a whopping 17k gold lead.

The Diamond Compete League season kicked off to a successful start last Wednesday. The first game of the day was none other than Team CompeteLeague with CL Lolshock, creator of the tournament, beating out Hepburn to start their season off. Players from other teams tuned into the twitch stream to watch their competition along with friends of the players and anyone else curious about the stream. Unfortunately Team CompeteLeague was unable to win their 2nd game of the season losing to JukeSkyWalker. I had a chance to speak to CL Lolshock about what went wrong in the game as he explained their communication was not as crisp as it should have been and some mechanical errors were made attributing to the loss. He was confident that his team would be able to fix these problems and would go into week 2 confident as a team. Come see all the action Wednesday August 6th starting at 5pm central as aBstract Gaming kicks off the stream against Tyrannosaurus Rekt. Full schedule can be found on the Schedule page.
