CompeteLeague Rules and Penalties
This is a comprehensive collection of rules for the CompeteLeague Silver, Platinum, and Diamond leagues. Any problems deemed as rule breaking that are not listed here will be dealt with in a case by case basis. All cases that are not a clear breach of rules will be judged by a non-biased 3rd party with no affiliation to the leagues in a competitive manner. Bear in mind that while explanations can be requested for punishments and excuses can be provided, punishments decided are final and extremely unlikely to be changed except under special circumstances (such as emergency incidents, injuries, or other such unavoidable problems).
General Rules
- All players must be of an appropriate division when the league begins with exceptions very limited and by appeal. If a player is starting in the Silver division, the player should be ranked Silver I or below, likewise with the Platinum division. For cases that break this rule contact us and we will debate whether your team is of an appropriate skill level to compete in a set division despite having an over-ranked player. While marginal exceptions are sometimes made for starting members, substitutes must always be of an appropriate rank.- No foul language or unsportsmanlike behaviour should be displayed in the pre-game lobby, all chat, or post game lobbies. If your team is subject to unsportsmanlike conduct take a screenshot for CompeteLeague staff to review. While toxicity is not permitted we do expect competitive environments and rivalries to form, so do bear in mind that friendly trash-talking between teams is allowed.
- All players must be registered 24 hours prior to game day, including substitutes. If multiple members are going to be unavailable on game day and players outside the current roster are being brought in please notify CompeteLeague staff of this as soon as possible.
- All players must be in the staff created lobby at least 15 minutes before the predetermined start time.
- Players are only allowed to play for one team. As such players cannot sub for other squads, a rule which spans all tiered leagues.
- Teams are only allowed 10 minutes of in game pause time. Going over this limit does not result in a forfeit, but will receive punishment.
- There is a 15 minute grace period in which teams can be late to a game. Any team going over this limit is grounds for forfeit should the opposing team be ready to play. Forfeits in this manner are judged on a case by case basis.
Penalties
Penalties are cumulative, as a teams rule breaking increases so does the severity of the punishments. In general breaking the rules above will result in the following order of punishments:
First Offence: Lose one ban
Second Offence: Lose two bans
Third Offence: Lose 3 bans
Fourth Offence: Forfeit the next game.
Special Punishments
For worse offences such as those listed below CompeteLeague reserves the right to skip the penalties system to enact a harsher punishment. Examples of these offences are below but are not limited to only these scenarios.
Offences
- When teams miss a scheduled game.- When a team attempts to field a substitute who is incorrectly registered and of an inappropriate rank for the league.
- Attempts to compromise or deceive opponents into missing a match.
- Any other offence deemed by CompeteLeague staff as punishable for more than one penalty.
As with penalties, in general breaking the rules above will result in the following order of punishments, these cases are always individually examined however and can result in harsher or weaker punishments as appropriate:
First Offence: Warning, one stacked penalty, and an automatic forfeit.
Second Offence: 4 week suspension from stream (with certain exceptions), one stacked penalty, and an automatic forfeit.
Third Offence: Subject to lose spot in league to further review, one stacked penalty, and an automatic forfeit.
As a final reminder, CompeteLeague reserves the right to remove any team or player from its competitions at any given point without reason. Removals in this manner are subject to appeal but decisions made by CompeteLeague are final.
